Year II Professional Development Seminar
The Council of Legal Education, Eugene Dupuch Law School held a successful Professional Development Seminar for the Class of 2014, on Thursday, June 5, 2014. Under the theme: “Bridging the Gap, Forging the Future“, the interactive, hands-on seminar provided practical advice and tips to prospective graduates who are preparing for entry into the legal profession. The seminar addressed topics such as choosing the right niche, continuing professional education and networking.
The presenters were: Nicholas Mosko, Vice President of The Bahamas Bar Association; Bethshaeba Haven, Country Counsel, Citibank; Sandena Neely, Associate Legal Counsel, Atlantis; Wilfred Bain, Attorney-at-Law, Bethel Legal; Renaldo Toote, Attorney-at-Law Supreme Court of The Bahamas; Damara Dillett, Honourary Secretary of The Bahamas Bar Association and Tutor of the Eugene Dupuch Law School; Bonnie Nuygen, Human Resource & Training Manager, Bahamas First General Insurance Limited; Renee Barrow, HR Specialist; Norma Turnquest, Counselor, College of The Bahamas, Matt Sweeting, Estate Sales & Marketing Associate, Bahamas Islands Realty; and Ann Hutchinson, Colina Insurance.
Students commented that the day was instructive, beneficial and enjoyable. It concluded with a cocktail reception that was attended by legal practitioners.
