Guided by its vision, “Excellence in Legal Education & Commitment to Social Service”, each year, the Eugene Dupuch Law School puts on public events aimed at informing, engaging and even entertaining.  Our annual calendar of activities include the following:

  • Eugene Dupuch Distinguished Lecture– Usually held in February or March, this  lecture  is  a  tribute  to the life  and work  of  the  late Hon. Eugene Aubrey Pyfrom Dupuch, CBE, Q.C.  Its   purpose is   to   bring   eminent practitioners, jurists and legal scholars to share their views and experience on topical legal/social issues with the legal fraternity and the wider community.
  • The Imoja Lecture Series– Offered by the Eugene Dupuch Law School Legal Aid Clinic, this lecture series, guided by a panel of experts, addresses current issues impacting the community.
  • Community Law Clinics– The Community Law Clinics are offered by EDLS and its alumni, in partnership with community agencies, and provides another forum for the sharing of legal knowledge and expertise.  The clinics are held in churches and community centres where legal issues that touch and concern the people of the area are discussed.
  • Dis-We-Bar– On the 1st Saturday of December, EDLS students and alumni, along with other members of the legal fraternity showcase their talent at this annual Law School concert. The concert assists in building camaraderie, creates lasting memories and provides vast amounts of hilarity and entertainment.
  • Race Judicata– Health and wellness are critical to maintaining a successful career. This fun/run/walk is a student led initiative held during Legal Education Week.

Look out for our events via our website, twitter, EDLS’ Facebook page or newspaper advertisement. We would be happy to have you join us!
