Margaret Forte Regional Mooting Competition

The Margaret Forte Mooting Competition encourages the cultivation of practical skills of trial advocacy. Participants are engaged in all aspects of a full trial from opening addresses to closing arguments. The Eugene Dupuch Law School was represented by Year II students Courtney Martin, Nioshi Ferguson, Cherie Butler and Ashton Williams at the 2023 competition in Trinidad and Tobago. Ms. Cordell Frazier served as the team’s coach. Team members expressed that the experience they gained and the rigorous training undertaken were invaluable. The efforts put in by our team members and Coach Cordell Frazier was unmatched. Though we did not win the competition, we received the praises of our peers, lecturers and the opposing team coaches; for that we are grateful. Our liaison officer, Cassidé Nurse, made connecting with our witnesses smooth and Justice Ronnie Boodoosingh marshalled an excellent new iteration of the Margaret Forte Moot.

Well done team EDLS!
