EUGENE DUPUCH LAW SCHOOL CELEBRATES 20 YEARS!
The Eugene Dupuch Law School, established in The Bahamas in 1998, is celebrating 20 years of excellence in legal education and its commitment to social service. Opening its doors in September of 1998, the Eugene Dupuch Law School (EDLS) became the third of three Law Schools operated by the Council of Legal Education in the Commonwealth Caribbean where students can obtain post graduate legal education, before being admitted to the Bars of various Caribbean countries.
While EDLS began with a student complement of 28 and the support of a small number of dedicated faculty and staff committed to the success of the institution at premises in Oakes Field, the Law School, which recently relocated to the City Corporate Centre, Rosetta Street, Palmdale, has over the past 20 years matriculated more than 450 students who are now practicing lawyers across the Commonwealth Caribbean and the globe.
To commemorate its 20th anniversary, the Law School has planned a series of events which include:
- The Eugene Dupuch Distinguished Lecture. The Law School, in conjunction with Dupuch and Turnquest, Counsel and Attorneys-at-Law, will host the Eugene Dupuch Distinguished Lecture. The lecture provides a forum for the scholarly discussion of topical matters that are of interest to the legal profession and civil society.
