Commercial Law Moot 2021

In conjunction with the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the Commercial and Financial Services Law Clinic of the Eugene Dupuch Law School held its annual Commercial Law Moot on Friday 19th March 2021 at 1:00 p.m. The Moot was judged by the President of the Court of Appeal, Sir Michael Barnett, Justice Indra Charles, and Justice Ian Winder. This year the returning champions Lennox Paton attempted to stretch their winning streak by defeating the challenger Higgs and Johnson. Both teams mooted on an estate planning question written by Mr. Sean McWeeney QC. Moot viewers were treated to a riveting and educational experience as the competing teams debated the points of law relentlessly. We are awaiting the judges’ written ruling.   The judges commended both teams on the quality of their presentations.
