Mr. Loren Klein (left) being sworn in as Justice of the Supreme Court. Photo credit: BIS/Letisha Henderson On January 6, 2020, EDLS Alumnus, Class of 2001 and native of South Andros, Loren Klein was sworn in as a Justice of the Supreme Court at Government House by Governor-General His Excellency the Most Hon. Cornelius A. Smith. Mr. Justice Klein has an extensive career in public service with significant experience in civil law, particularly in the areas of constitutional and administrative law, and in foreign relations law and practice. He joined the Royal Bahamas Defence Force in 1986 and retired as Commander in 2011. Justice Klein’s appointment will help improve the justice system and the delivery of justice so that cases are dealt with more expeditiously. He will focus on public law issues and constitutional law judicial review, which decide rights between government and applicants.
