Students Awarded Legal Education Certificate at 2023 Ceremony for the Presentation of Graduates

The Eugene Dupuch Law School (EDLS) hosted its 2023 presentation ceremony on September 23, 2023. The ceremony, which was held at the Margaritaville Beach Resort, marked the achievement of a major milestone for students who were enrolled in EDLS’ six-month and two-year Legal Education Certificate programmes.

Members of the six-month and two-year cohorts hailed from Antigua, The Bahamas, Belize, the British Virgin Islands, Barbados, the Cayman Islands, Dominica, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, and Trinidad and Tobago.

The Presentation Address was delivered by The Hon. Philip E. Davis, K.C., Prime Minister of The Bahamas. Prime Minister Davis shared his journey in the law with the graduates, encouraging them to adopt the attributes required to be a successful lawyer and highlighting the importance of thorough preparation. In emphasising the importance of lawyers having a sense of service, Prime Minister Davis said, “As the next generation of Caribbean Lawyers, you have an important role to play in upholding the rule of law in the region at large…Let your conduct be a testament to your dedication to fairness, equality, and truth.” To read Mr. Davis full address, Click here.
