DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]In conjunction with the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners\, the Commercial and Financial Services Law Clinic of the Eugene Dupuch Law School held its annual Commercial Law Moot on Friday\, 25th March 2022. The President of the Court of Appeal of The Bahamas\, the Hon. Sir Michael Barnett\, Justice of the Supreme Court of The Bahamas\, the Hon. Madam Justice G. Diane Stewart and Sir Burton Hall\, Judge of the United Nations Residual Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals\, former Permanent Judge of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) and former Chief Justice of The Bahamas presided over the moot. \nReturning champions Higgs and Johnson defended their title against challenger Glinton Sweeting and O’Brien. EDLS Law Students presented arguments on behalf of their teams on an estate planning question written by Mr. Sean McWeeney QC. \nThe Plaintiff’s Counsel\, Higgs and Johnson won the moot\, but the court’s decision was in favor of the Defendant’s Counsel\, Glinton Sweeting and O’Brien.
