DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Eugene Dupuch Law School\, the Caribbean Association of Judicial Officers (CAJO)\, and APEX – The Caribbean Agency for Justice Solutions (APEX)\, partnered to produce a series of Law & Society Webinars that addressed a number of pressing regional issues fundamental to the development\, prosperity and the continued success of all Caribbean peoples. \n  \nThis webinar  facilitated discourse designed to consider the impact of regional governments’ legislative responses to the Covid-19 pandemic. The discussions addressed policy considerations giving rise to the various Orders; the efficacy of extraordinary powers\, emergency and safety regulations\, disaster declarations; the rights of citizens; mental health\, public health\, employment\, and economic concerns; the impact of laws on the poor\, and the curtailment of human rights in the public interest. The panelists\, who presented on matters related to policy\, law\, and industry considerations were Dr. Nicolette Bethel\, Chair Social Sciences\, University of The Bahamas\, Dr. Arif Bulkan\, Senior Lecturer\, University of the West Indies\, St. Augustine\, and Mr. Wayne R.
