The Two Year Programme is a full-time course of study for persons who hold a degree of Bachelor of Laws from the University of the West Indies (UWI) or another university approved by the Council of Legal Education. This programme leads to the award of the Legal Education Certificate, which is recognised in states throughout the Caribbean region as the professional qualification for admission to practice.
Persons holding a degree other than a University of the West Indies LLB degree would be required to sit an entrance examination administered by the Admissions Board of the Council of Legal Education. Admission is based upon successful placement in the entrance examination and subject to the availability of space. Applicants will be notified of their results in the entrance examination after the Admission Board meets in August.
The Norman Manley Law School administers the entrance examination and therefore, candidates required to sit the examination must apply to the Norman Manley Law School. Information on the examination can be found at www.nmls.edu.jm
The Six-Month Programme offers common law professionally trained persons of any nationality, a six-month training course leading to the award of the Legal Education Certificate which is recognized in states throughout the Caribbean region as the professional qualification for admission to practice. Courses offered as a part of this course of study are Constitutional Law, Law and Legal Systems; Criminal Practice and Procedure and Law Office Management, Accounting and Technology. Students in this programme are attached to a Law Office for the duration of the programme.
Applications for admission to the Eugene Dupuch Law School should be sent to the attention of the Registrar on or before January 31. To be eligible for admission, applicants must have either a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of the West Indies or a degree equivalent to a University of the West Indies LLB degree from a university approved by the Council of Legal Education.

- 2 References
- 2 passport-sized colour photographs
- A copy of the Bachelor of Laws certificate awarded to the applicant
- An official and complete transcript for the Bachelor of Laws programme
- In the case of the six-month programme, a copy of each Bar Certificate obtained
Nationals of The Bahamas, the British Virgin Islands and the Turks and Caicos Islands are zoned to EDLS. Tuition and fees for these students are paid in part by the respective government and in part by the student. Nationals of other countries who attend the Eugene Dupuch Law School are required to pay the full tuition and fees (unless the government of that other country agrees to pay some part of the cost).
