EDLS – 2017 CCJ CHAMPIONS

On Friday March 10, 2017, the Eugene Dupuch Law School earned its 5th win at the ninth annual Caribbean Court of Justice International Law Moot Court Competition. The all-female team of Janessa Murray – Lead Advocate, Raven Rolle – Junior Advocate, Megan Curry – Research Advocate and Advisor Raquel Williams, Tutor at EDLS, traveled to Trinidad and Tobago to compete against seven other law schools and faculties from throughout the Caribbean.

The annual competition provides opportunities for law students to hone their skills and present before the region’s highest court on original jurisdiction matters involving the interpretation and application of the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas. This year, competitors dealt with issues involving freedom of movement and the right to provide services within the Caribbean, and presented arguments before a panel of distinguished CCJ judges: the Honourable Messrs. Justice Nelson, Wit and Hayton.
